It is simple why you should hold off on buying expensive rare imported plants. The supply-demand
Should be considered as most of the expensive plants which cost about 2 million, 3 years ago like the matured from of Philodendron Spiritus Sancti and Vaariegated Billitiae can now be bought in it's juvenile form for only Php 5,000 pesos. Due to pandemic, the prices of rare plants from Thailand, Holland and Ecuador skyrocketed. Some I believed are overpriced already. Due to fad on being a palntito and plantita with rare collection of plants, people were spending more on plants just for the sake of having a rare plant on his/her collections. But later you will realized that it is better to wait a little more since the price of rare imported plants are declining. In 4th quarter of this year, one-leafer variegated billitiae maybe in 2,000 to 3,000 per leaf compared to 100,000 per leaf a year ago.

The price of Variegated Philodendron Black Cardinal before is Php 100,000 for 3 to 4 matured leaves and now you can buy it for Php8,000 only and by end of this year it will cost only Php1,000 pesos. To conclude better wait so you can have achieved your wish plants in a more affordable and reasonable price. Since most of the horticulturist and collectors of rare plants already propagated this so called rare plants and it will soon be available in the market in a very low price. If you refrain from buying expensive plants and stop watching live selling of plants, then you also help those plant coolectors who wish to buy plants in a much affordable and best price since the chain of supply and demand will dictate the price of the plants in the market.
Before I bought an Ecuadorian plant with ID Sp Columbia for 20,000 per leaf and it grows very slow and now that I wanted to sell my propagation, the market price for this plant is now only P700.00. So I decided just to keep my propagation as a collection instead of selling it for a very low price.
