Saudi Claims not in Priority of DMW OIC Hans Cacdac?

President Bongbong Marcos tapped the Depatment of Migrant Workers Undersecretary Hans Leo Cacdac as the Officer In Charge of the DMW after Secretary Susan "Tots" Ople's departure. OIC Cacdac did not mention the Saudi Claims as the key priority under his leadership. Saudi Claimants reacted after President Bongbong Marcos mentioned in his SONA that the Claimants would be paid anytime soon but there was no clear update regarding the claims until now.  Teddie Bacani, once of the claimants commented on the DMW page that OIC Cacdac should prioritize their case since they have been waiting for almost 8 years already to get their unpaid salaries and other remunerations. What Happens to 10k Humanitarian Aid by DMW to OFW Saudi Claimants?

According to DMW Secretary Ople, they will release the humanitarian assistance to OFW-Saudi Claimants for unpaid wages within the next two weeks with DMW-OWWA leading the distribution efforts. The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was held on March 11, 2023 and almost two weeks passed already but no sign of distribution has been made.  The DMW-OWWA and DSWD were supposed to provide P5,000 each for an estimated 10,000 workers-claimants, based on OWWA records. In all, the agencies will each allot P50 million to cover the financial grant. Earlier, Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople and Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) providing P10,000 as financial aid for each worker seeking unpaid wages from several Saudi construction companies that declared bankruptcy from 2015 to 2019.  Hopefully, the 100 million allocated to all the 10,000 claimants will finally get cash aid from our government and not just pure press releases. OWWA Adm...
