GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) continued to be the free-to-air channel of choice among viewers in the important areas of Urban Luzon and Mega Manila in October, according to data from the industry’s leading ratings service provider, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. For the period October 1 to 31 (October 27 to 31 based on overnight data), GMA reigned over rival networks in Urban Luzon with a 35.9 percent total day audience share, higher than ABS-CBN’s 32.6 percent by 3.3 points, and TV5’s 11.4 percent by 24.5 points. Urban Luzon accounts for 76 percent of the total urban television households nationwide. Leading across all timeblocks in Urban Luzon, GMA outnumbered its competitors in the list of top-performing programs in the area with 16 out of 30.
