Filipino Nurse now wanted in Germany! Philippines and Germany conclude agreement to deploy Filipino health care professionals to Germany. For its initial implementation, the Agreement will apply to the deployment of Filipino nurses who already have a history of working in Germany in the 1970s. The Philippines and the Federal Republic of Germany on Tuesday, March 19, concluded a government-to-government agreement that will facilitate the placement of Filipino health care professionals in employment positions in Germany. The Agreement was signed by Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and Ms. Monika Varnhagen of the German Federal Employment Agency [Bundesagentur für Arbeit]/International Placement Agency [Zentrale Auslands und Fachvermittlung] (BA/ZAV). A March 12, 2013 press release from the Department of Foreign Affairs:   Philippine Ambassador to Germany Maria Cleofe Natividad met with officials of the Federal Employment Agency, International Placement Services (ZAV) in Bonn on March 08 to discuss the deployment of Filipino nurses to Germany and the upcoming visit of German Minister for Labour and Social Affairs Ursula von der Leyen to the Philippines. Minister von der Leyen will witness the signing of an agreement between the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and ZAV to formalize the arrangement for the deployment. The Sultanate of Oman is in need of 3,288 nurses and doctors to fill up their country’s shortage on medical professionals, says Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz on Friday . According to Baldoz, this latest positive development will certainly boost the chances of our highly-skilled and highly-qualified medical workers, particularly Filipino nurses, of getting a job in Oman if they are inclined to. Jimeno said the Oman MOH will need 4,464 doctors by 2015, but can only source 1,176 of them locally. In terms of nurses, 5,598 will be hired abroad, he further said. On average, a nurse in Oman receives US$703.79 per month, based on employment contracts processed by the Philippine Overseas EmploymentAdministration (POEA).
