November 2, 2011- No Classes in Philippines

According to the report from GMA News, there will be no classes on November 2 after all, as the Department of Education on Friday said classes in public elementary and high schools will resume November 3. "According to DepEd 2011-2012 Official Calendar, classes in public schools will resume on Nov 3. Sembreak starts Oct 26," it said. On the other hand, it said private schools "have the discretion to schedule their own semestral breaks."
