Wii Motion Plus review

Source: Wiigamereview It’s tricky to review a static piece of hardware but that will not stop me from trying. Let’s start at the beginning; Wii MotionPlus is a small extension to the Wii Remote which connects and fixes to the Nunchuck port. Inside is a tiny electro gyroscope and if you’re not up on what a gyroscope is I suggest you think of it as a suspended but fixed sensor which can rotate freely in three dimensions. If that isn’t clear enough then just pretend there is a magic ball inside and that will make both our lives easier. Whilst the Wii Remote on its own had an accelerometer which could detect if you tipped it from side to side it wasn’t very accurate and only worked in straight lines. Adding the gyroscope to the already semi sensitive accelerometer allows for much greater precision and sensitivity because every possible movement and angle you move at will be detectable. All this really means is that the Wii Remote can now be used in 1 to 1 accuracy scenarios and in real tim

Review: Kinect motion-sensing system impresses

There are a lot of futuristic things we're still waiting on: jet packs for the entire family, self-driving cars and time-travel, to name a few. But one new, pretty darn amazing bit of technology has finally come to fruition, thanks to the folks at Microsoft. The Kinect system for the Xbox 360 game console, on sale beginning November 4 outside the Philippines, offers controller-free control of living room entertainment and aptly delivers a groundbreaking piece of technology. It's part game controller, part fitness guru and part "Minority Report," the movie where Tom Cruise famously interacts with a multi-touch interface by making rapid motions with his hands. Instead of gripping a physical controller to play games and movies on your Xbox 360, Kinect allows you to simply move your body — hands, feet, hips — to do everything. Kinect is a hybrid video camera and motion sensor that sits just above or below your television display. It looks like an extra wide webcam and con

God of War- Ghost of Sparta, PSP

If a myth grows in the retelling, then small wonder Kratos is Sony's biggest hero today. God of War's muscle-bound fighter has taken on gods and monsters in six outings now and, while the heavenly cast of Olympia in each has rotated, the core message of the series has stood resolute, only amplifying with repetition. These are hack and slash games that prize spectacle over mechanical fussiness, experiences that shroud solid but simple systems in jaw-dropping set-pieces, screen-filling Homeric visions that strike fear in the heart and mind, in much the same way they did for the Grecians three thousand years ago. Ghost of Sparta, then, is as predictable as it is mesmerising; a game that pushes its nose up against the PSP's technological boundaries with a sense of urgency and pressure few others could muster. As with its predecessor, Chains of Olympus, the game offers a spectacular voyage, its narrow yet honest take on Greek mythology brutal and expressive as the game seeks to

“Super Mario Bros.” Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary

One of my favorite famicom game aside from battle city and contra...lol... oldschool! Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan 25 years ago today on the Famicom, the Japanese version of what Americans call the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then, Mario has become one of the most iconic characters and entertainment brands in the world. Mario had previously appeared in the arcade games Donkey Kong and Mario Bros., but it was Super Mario Bros. that propelled the Italian plumber to icon status and contributed significantly to making video games commonplace in homes around the world and reversing the video game crash of the early ’80s. The game was bundled with the Nintendo Entertainment System in the U.S., and it’s tough to say whether it was successful because of the NES or vice versa, but either way, Super Mario Bros. has sold more than 40 million copies over the past 25 years. In fact, it was the best-selling video game of all time until just recently. That title now belongs to Wii

NBA 2k11

For Video game lovers. I only got NBA 2k8  for Playstation 3 which I bought for 99 dirhams, and now there's already 2k11. However I have 2k9 and 2k10 for Playstation 2. NBA 2k11 Review: Here's a review of the game by Gamespot.com Authentic presentation and a number of gameplay improvements make this the most realistic NBA game yet. The Good: Overhauled controls give you a wide assortment of offensive moves Outstanding presentation Improved AI on both ends of the court Classic teams bring back fond memories. The Bad: Online play suffers from lag Replaying Michael Jordan's best games isn't much fun. Who could have ever imagined that Michael Jordan would be the weak link on the basketball court? The six-time NBA champion makes his surprising return to the virtual court in NBA 2K11, but his presence is overshadowed by improvements in just about every other facet of this great round-ball simulator. Impressive artificial intelligence makes you work for every scoring o
