Actress-host KC Concepcion took on the role of the Filipino superheroine Darna during the opening number of the ABS-CBN noontime variety show "ASAP" on Sunday. ABS-CBN recently acquired exclusive rights to "Darna," one of Mars Ravelo's popular works. It has yet to choose who will portray the Pinay superhero, but KC, Angel Locsin, Cristine Reyes, Sarah Geronimo and Jessy Mendiola have been considered by many as potential perfect fits for the role.

Reports said that ABS-CBN have chosen the original Darna on TV Angel Locsin to play anew the role of Pinay heroine once it airs on ABS-CBN. Cristine Reyes is said to be her new nemesis. Angel first portray the role of Darna on GMA. Angel’s version of Darna garnered 47.1% based on AGB’s survey and considered as the highest rated pilot episode ever in Philippine’s television. On its 4th episode, the show garnered 52.1% rating from AGB’s survey when Narda first transformed into its Darna character.
