If you are a regular GCash application user just like me who pays merchants, bills, sends andd received money from customers and does just about any service provided by GCash then getting a physical GCash card is a must so you can withdraw cash on the ATM if needed.
However, according to GCash, starting March 7, purchasing the GCash Mastercard will be temporarily unavailable. For those with pending orders from February 18 onwards, you have to expect delays in the delivery due to the high volume of requests. GCash will send an SMS for more updates.
GCash Card is only available to Fully Verified GCash users. The card costs Php 150 (+Php65 for the delivery fee). A customer is only allowed to avail a maximum of 3 cards per month.
Here is a summary of how to apply for a GCash card.
1. On your GCash app, tap View All
2. Tap Cash out
3. Tap Deliver
4. Fill up the order form to proceed. Tap Next
5. Tap Pay (make sure you have enough balance)
6. A prompt will appear that you have successfully paid
A Fully Verified GCash Account assures the legitimacy of your account because of the submission of personal documents to support proof of your identity as well as a selfie scan for enhanced security. Having a Fully Verified account also allows you to access all the features and services of GCash and have increased wallet limits.
