The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be the 19th tournament of the FIBA Basketball World Cup for men's national basketball teams. The tournament will be the second to feature 32 teams. For the first time in its history, the World Cup will be hosted by multiple nations in Asia; the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia, from 25 August to 10 September 2023.

In the Philippines, there will be three venues that will be used for the World Cup: The Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, and the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan which is dubbed as the largest indoor sports arena in the world and can accommodate 55,000 spectators.

PRC: 1,605 pass licensure exam for midwives

A total of 1,605 out of the 4,013 exam takers passed the licensure exams for midwives given last Wednesday in nine cities in the country, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Saturday. Paulo Benito Tugbang of the West Visayas State University got the highest score of 89.25 percent in the exams administered by the PRC Board of Midwifery last Wednesday in testing centers in Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
