The Truth on TAPE-Eat Bulaga-GMA Fiasco

What is the real truth about the Eat Bulaga Main Hosts and almost all the production staff leaving the show?

Some Netizens are blaming GMA Network for not airing their side during the height of the feud between TVJ and TAPE Incorporated. Some are telling that GMA take the side of the Jalosjos and here's Ms. Anette Gozon's Statement:

GMA Senior Vice President, Atty Annette Gozon-Valdes nilinaw na walang pinapanigan at walang kontrol ang GMA sa issue sa pagitan ng TVJ at Tape Inc.

I believe, GMA just don't meddle with the issue and if they have the choice, they will choose Eat Bulaga with TVJ and Dabarkads over EB with Jalosjos Management.

As Ms. Annette mentioned, they are bound with the contract with TAPE Incorporated, the Producer of Eat Bulaga and not with TVJ.

Even Mr. Gozun said that TVJ leaving Eat Bulaga will create a big void in noontime for the next 19 months since the contract of TAPE with GMA for block time is until the end of 2024. It means, anticipated na ni Mr. Gozun Eat Bulaga without TVJ won't be "Isang Libo't Isang Tuwa. But then again they will have to wait for the TAPE's contract with GMA network to expire. 

Ang tanong, Eat Bulaga pa rin ba ang title ng noontime show ng TAPE since according to online report, TVJ applied for Trademark on the title, Eat Bulaga. And kung sakaling sa TAPE pa rin mapunta ang title ng EB how about the theme song, "Mula Apararri hanggang Jolo saan ka may ay Halina kayo, Sina Tito Vic at Joey, barkada't dumarami." Sino ang may rights sa EB theme song?

Sino din ang may rights, sa EB popular segments like, Pinoy Henyo, Bawal Judgemental, Little Miss Philippines, Mr. Pogi,Bulagaan and more!

Philipine Star reported that  In an interview with One PH’s Julius and Tintin, Senator Sotto revealed that they filed a trademark application for "Eat Bulaga!"

He also claimed that TVJ has the exclusive right to use “Eat Bulaga!“ while TAPE Inc. holds the sole right to use the brand only for merchandising.

In the same interview, Sotto also noted that some parts and segments of the show are copyrighted by their production staff and employees, and are not owned by TAPE Inc. Some online news mentioned that Sprkle Artists, mostly comedian will be part of the new set of host of Eat Bulaga. Old hosts who were removed from the show might comeback as well like Anjo Yllana? 

Within 28 years that Eat Bulaga has been with GMA Network is a proof that they have been a great partner with EB and TAPE Incorporated. I believe Senator Tito Sotto should also mention in his interviews that GMA cannot meddle with the Internal Issue between TAPE and TVJ. While Vic and Joey has been quite and not mentioned anything regarding the sides of GMA on the issue, Tito Sen has been seen getting interviewed in other channels.

Ms. Annette mentioned that the contract deal was even made when Mr. Antonio Tuviera was still leading the TAPE-Eat Bulaga. And Ms. Anette reiterate that kung may control lang sila sa pamgyayari, hindi nila pakakawalan ang Eat bualaga at susubukan nila lahat para magstay pa ang TVJ at Dabarkads sa Eat Bulaga. And according sa contract ng GMA and TAPE pwedeng magpalit ng hosts and mag-reformat ang show and GMA has no control about it since binabayaran sila ng TAPE for block time. And some comments on facebook are even mentioning that they will not support the new EB Management and malamang hindi na kikita ang show. Again, kumita man ang show or hindi, magbabayad ang TAPE sa GMA for block time as per contract so hindi ang GMA ang malulugi kung umalis man ang ibang sponsors sa programa ng TAPE.

Another question is that for 44 years run of Eat Bulaga under TAPE Incorporated why TVJ has not become a co-owner/co-producer of the show so they should have a say in decision-making for the show. 

Meanwhile, Roadfill on facebook wrote, Little Miss Philippines, That’s My Boy, She’s Got the Look, Mr Pogi, Bulagaan, Lotong Bahay, Tunog Tao, Gaya Gaya Puto Maya, Rap Public, Laban o Bawi, Feeling Pogi, Super Sireyna, Pinoy Henyo, Juan for All, Kalye Serye (Aldub), Bawal ang Judgemental, ilan yan sa mga programa ng Eat Bulaga na tumatak, naging parte ng buhay at nakalakihan na natin. Nakakalungkot isipin na in 44 years ay magpapaalam na sila. Maraming Salamat Eat Bulaga sa lagpas isang libo’t isang tuwa hindi lang sa buong bansa pati na din sa buong mundo. ❤️ EAT BULAGA Number 1!
