When is Eid Al Fitr 2023?

The Philippines also observes Islamic holidays: Eid al-Fitr (The End of Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha (The Feast of Sacrifice). When I was in Dubai working on a private construction company we were given 2 days off to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. However, if you are working on government agencies in UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia then you will be allowed to have a five to seven days celebration of the occasion.

According to TimeoutDubai.com, In 2023, the start date of Ramadan was Thursday, March 23. With the Holy Month fully underway, this means Eid al Fitr is expected to fall on Friday, April 21 – after the end of the annual fast.

Eid'l Fitr, one of the two most important Islamic celebrations, is observed by the Muslim community three days after the month-long Ramadan fasting.

The holiday is determined by the use of the lunar-based Islamic calendar through the sighting of the crescent moon in the Islamic month of Shawwal.

It was established as a regular holiday by virtue of Republic Act 9177 to honor the country's Islamic heritage.
