Is April 21, 2023 Holiday in the Philippines for Eid Al Fitr?

When is Eid Al Fitr 2023?

The Philippines also observes Islamic holidays: Eid al-Fitr (The End of Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha (The Feast of Sacrifice). When I was in Dubai working on a private construction company we were given 2 days off to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. However, if you are working on government agencies in UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia then you will be allowed to have a five to seven days celebration of the occasion.

According to TimeoutDubai.com, In 2023, the start date of Ramadan was Thursday, March 23. With the Holy Month fully underway, this means Eid al Fitr is expected to fall on Friday, April 21 – after the end of the annual fast.

Eid'l Fitr, one of the two most important Islamic celebrations, is observed by the Muslim community three days after the month-long Ramadan fasting.

The holiday is determined by the use of the lunar-based Islamic calendar through the sighting of the crescent moon in the Islamic month of Shawwal.

It was established as a regular holiday by virtue of Republic Act 9177 to honor the country's Islamic heritage.

Inspiring speech by Bill Gates on Harvard Commencement

I always wanted to share this inspiring speech by Mr. Bill Gates. This speech is worth reading over and again. (I just can't remember how many times i read it myself). I received this thru e-mail which was sent to me by a good friend. Harvard Commencement (Text as prepared for delivery) President Bok, former President Rudenstine, incoming President Faust, members of the Harvard Corporation and the Board of Overseers, members of the faculty, parents, and especially, the graduates: I’ve been waiting more than 30 years to say this: “Dad, I always told you I’d come back and get my degree.” I want to thank Harvard for this timely honor. I’ll be changing my job next year … and it will be nice to finally have a college degree on my resume. I applaud the graduates today for taking a much more direct route to your degrees. For my part, I’m just happy that the Crimson has called me “Harvard’s most successful dropout.” I guess that makes me valedictorian of my own special class … I did the b...

I have posted a story about the company offering a Tiktok Viewer job that has gone viral. Is there such job posting as Tiktok viewer? How much is the salary being a TikTok Viewer? I received a message on my "Whatsapp" account asking me if I can be a TikTok viewer and work from home with good remuneration. She said she got my number from Linkedin and/or Jobstreet. When I accepted the job offer, I was unsure if it was legit. I heard about some home-based typing jobs and think that it might be a valid job since the recruiter told me he is working in a particular company, which I "Google" and saw a legit Website. To register for the job you just need to send them your name, age and mobile number. After accepting my registration they sent P100 pesos to my GCash number as a sign-up bonus. The so-called "The Manager" asked me to install Telegraph apps and joined me in a group chat. There, The Manager" will send a task like Task No. 3 with the link to the T...

I got a TikTok Viewer Job Offer from Skyrocket Studio Ph- Scam or Not?

Earlier today, I got a message on my Whatsapp and telling me to become a TikTok Viewer with an attractive salary and commission. The message says it's a part-time job and I can work from Home. Legit or not? So I ask the sender who he/she is and how did she manage to get my Whatsapp number. She told me she was from Skyrocket Studio Ph and she got my number from Whatsapp, Linkedin and/or Telegram. She's not sure actually where she got my number.
