President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. (BBM) is currently the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture. He has long championed agricultural development throughout his nearly four decades in public service—during his stint as Governor of Ilocos Norte, from 1983 to 1986 and from 1998 to 2007, and as lawmaker, first as the Representative of the Second District of Ilocos Norte from 1992 to 1995 and from 2007 to 2010, and second, as Senator from 2010 to 2016.

Under his leadership as Governor, Ilocos Norte saw significant expansion in rice and corn production as well as in livestock. He was branded as “Rice czar” as the province became rice self-sufficient with an average of 296 percent sufficiency level.

Also, for the whole period of his term, Ilocos Norte sustained more than 100 % self-sufficiency in corn and other major commodities. The province is the number 1 garlic producer and second largest producer of mango in the region.

As part of the agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to make food accessible and affordable to all Filipinos, the Department of Agriculture (DA) plans to install accredited KADIWA retail stores in select Metro Manila dry and wet markets within the first quarter of 2023.

The said plan, bared by DA Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs and Spokesperson Kristine Y. Evangelista, is expected to ensure food availability in the metro while also addressing the ballooning prices of agricultural commodities in its local markets.

According to the report Justin Bieber was the target of a grisly murder plot hatched by a convicted killer imprisoned in New Mexico, police told ABC News today. According to KRQE News , Dana Martin —a prisoner who’s serving two life sentences in New Mexico for raping and killing a 15-year-old girl in Vermont over a decade ago— hired his former fellow inmate Mark Staake, who in turn recruited his nephew Tanner Ruane, to carry out a plan to kill four individuals including Bieber. Martin who is reportedly “obsessed with Bieber" has a tattoo of the teen star on his leg, the report said. The mastermind reportedly ordered the would-be-hitmen to strangle their victims with a paisley tie.
