What is missing from the Choco Much Flying Titans Team to reach the Finals of the Premiere Volleyball League (PVL)? The team has not reached even the quarterfinals since joining the league. Their former head coach, Oliver Almdaro resigned in the middle of the Reinforced Conference citing to concentrate on the Ateneo Blue Eagles Womens Volleyball Team only to sign with Petro Gazz Angels later.
CMFC has now Coach Dante Alinsunurin, one of the most decorated Men's Volleyball Head coaches. they won their first game in PVL Al-Filipino Conference on straight three sets but lost their last two games against Petro Gazz and All-Filipino Conference, Defending Champion Creamline Cool Smashers.
They have one of the best Opposite Spiker with Kat Tolentino, and two of the most reliable Outside Hitters with Des Cheng and Isa Molde. Four of the Best Middle Blockers in the country are with the team as well, Chery Nunag, Maika Ortiz, Bea de Leon and Maddie Madayag, however all of them rarely contribute with points as they cannot get an excellent set. Dennise Lazaro-Revilla and Tang Ponce are two of the best Liberos in the League. But what's missing them is a good play-maker, the likes of Jia Morado de Guzman.
Deanna Wong is no doubt the most popular player on the team but her popularity cannot bring the team to a Championship Caliber Team. Her high-slow toss is giving her spikers a hard time executing their game. Jem Ferrer is a two-time UAAP Best Setter but playing only as a substitute for Wong.
Deanna Wong has to step up her game or Ferrer should play as the main setter for the team to advance at least to the Quarter-Finals.
