Report said that Sunshine Cruz filed criminal charges against her estranged husband, Cesar Montano, her legal counsel has confirmed.
Earlier, Cruz lawyer, Atty. Carlo Bonifacio Alentajan, told Yahoo! OMG Philippines that they will file the case on Tuesday, August 13, at the Quezon City prosecutor’s office. Alentajan revealed that her client would ask the court to hold Cesar liable “for violation of RA 9262,” also known as Anti-Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Act of 2004. Sunshine has reportedly filed a Temporary Protection Order against the actor, but her legal counsel refused to talk about the details of the petition, the report said.

Sunshine Cruz filed a complaint against estranged husband Cesar Montano for allegedly violating Republic Act No. 9262, also known as the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act.
The complaint was filed at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Quezon City on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.
According to Sunshine's lawyer Bonifacio Alentajan, the Kapamilya actress experienced "psychological, emotional, and financial" abuse from Cesar.
According to ABS-CBN report, among the claims the actress made was an alleged incident of rape last May.
The “Dugong Buhay” star recalled that on Mother's Day, May 12, Montano allegedly "barged" into her residence, "where she was alone, and then violently attacked her, employed physical violence and raped" her.
