Typhoon Helen Update-August 15- Areas with Public Storm Signal

Tropical Storm "HELEN" has slightly weakened and is now over the vicinity of Aparri, Cagayan according to PAGASA. At 10:00 a.m. today, 15 August 2012, the center of Tropical Storm "HELEN" was estimated at 40 km South Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan(18.1°N, 121.8°E). Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas due to Tropical Storm "Helen" and the Southwest Monsoon. Class Suspension on August 9 in Philippines

Due to torrential rain that brought heavy flood in Metro Manila, NCR and nearby provinces wherein until now most of the public transposrt road are not passable. Classes in most areas hit by floodings suspend classes for tomorrow, August 9. The University of Sto.Tomas made their advisory as early as this morning. Here's the latest PAGASA Weather Update- August 8, 2012!  According to PAGASA, the Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT) has weakened slightly as Tropical Cyclone "HAIKUI" outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has moved farther away and made landfall in the vicinity of Shanghai, China early this morning. Consequently, weather condition is expected to slightly improve further before the weekend because of the weakening of the southwesterly winds. However, for the next 12 hours, light to moderate rains (2.5-5mm/hr) in some portions of Batangas are expected. Intermittent moderate to heavy (5-10mm/hr) but less frequent rains compared with the past 24-hours will be experienced in the following Provinces: Portions of Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Bulacan, Bataan, Rizal, Cavite and NCR. Here's an update on Typhoon Ramon as of October 13, 7:00 PM. At least 12 other areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 1 including Metro Manila as Tropical Depression Ramon (Banyan) changed direction and moved northwest toward Mindoro Wednesday afternoon. Typhoon Ramon Update- October 11

Here's the latest update on Typhoon Ramon (Bagyong Ramon) as of October 11. At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression "RAMON"was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 360 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (7.7°N, 129.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 17 kph. In its 11 p.m. update, PAGASA placed the following areas under Signal No. 1 — which means residents there should expect winds of 45 to 80 kilometers per hour within the next 36 hours: Update: October 11-5:30 P.M. PAGASA estimated Ramon to bring rainfall of 10 to 30 millimeters per hour (moderate to heavy) within the 400-kilometer (km) diameter of the storm. A low-pressure area that is expected to intensify into a cyclone later this week moved closer to Philippine territory Monday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. Bagyong Quiel Update September 30 2011

As of 10AM today, September 30 typhoon or Bagyong Quiel was last spotted 640km east of Tuguegarao City and it is expected to make landfall in Cagayan Valley by Saturday according to the latest update (11AM press briefing) from PAGASA. It is moving westward at 22kph with maximum wind of 140kph and gustiness of up to 170kph. Signal No. 2 is up over Cagayan and Isabela while Signal No. 1 at Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Abra. Quiel is expected to exit the Philippines by Sunday afternoon.

DepED suspends Afternoon Classes in Metro Manila- August 3, 2011

Afternoon classes in Metro Manila from Kindergarten to High School was suspended- August 3, 2011. "Afternoon classes in NCR [National Capital Region] is suspended. Latest report from Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) predicts moderate to heavy rainfalls throughout the day," DepEd said on Twitter.
