Over 90 programs from different TV Stations was given by the “Anak TV Seal”. 21 shows from Net25, 17 from NBN, 14 from TV5 and UNTV, 13 from Q11, 6 from GMA and ABS-CBN, 2 from IBC and 1 from Studio23.

The Anak TV Seal is given every year by the Southeast Asian Foundation for Children and Television and is given to kid-friendly TV programs and personalities and stars that are considered to be good influence on kids.

 As in past years, most of the winners at the Anak TV Seal Awards 2010 are personalities and programs associated with leading networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7.

Among those named “Anak TV Makabata Stars” during the award ceremonies held Dec. 8 in Quezon City are ABS-CBN stars Aga Muhlach, Coco Martin, Gerald Anderson, John Lloyd Cruz, Vhong Navarro, Luis Manzano and Charo Santos-Concio, with the last three being first-time Anak TV Seal Awardees.

Manzano is elated over the recognition. “It's overwhelming. It's my first time and hopefully not the last. This is very special because boto ng kabataan ito,” said he via abs-cbnnews.com.

In the same interview, Martin, who is a second-time honoree said, “Nakakatuwa [na] nakakabigay ako ng inspirasyon sa kabataan.”

Not one in GMA’s stable of young stars was included in this year’s awards, with most of the network’s honorees coming from the news department.

GMA’s Mel Tiangco, Vicky Morales and Arnold Clavio were present to receive their award.

In an interview with “Saksi,” Morales, a consistent honoree said, “Isang napakaimportanteng award ito para sa isang inang katulad ko na walang ibang hangad kundi mapaganda ang mundo na mamanahin ng kanyang anak.”

Some six honorees from last year did not make it to this year’s list: Cesar Montano, Vilma Santos, Kris Aquino, Vic Sotto, Edu Manzano, and Maja Salvador.

The Anak TV Seal Award is a recognition given to Philippine television programs and personalities that are child-friendly, child-sensitive, and family-friendly. Established in 1996, it was initially named Southeast Asian Foundation for Children’s Television.

The Anak TV Seal Award is conducted yearly and participated in by over three thousand judges from around the world and from different sectors of society.
