Multi-awarded actor Dennis Trillo inked a three-year exclusive contract with GMA, ending speculations of a network transfer. The contract signing was held at the GMA Network Center Building on Monday, February 17. Present at the event were GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Entertainment TV Group SVP Lilybeth G. Rasonable, VP for Drama Redgie Acuna-Magno, AVP for Drama Cheryl Ching-Sy, GMA Films President Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar, VP for Program Support Regie C. Bautista, AVP for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, AVP for Corporate Communications Angel Javier-Cruz, Program Manager Charles Koo and
Dennis' manager, Popoy Caritativo. In his eleven years in GMA, we’ve seen Dennis portray different roles in series such as Mulawin, Darna, Etheria, Majika, Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, Super Twins, Endless Love, Dwarfina, Sinner or Saint, Legacy and Temptation of Wife. Most recently, he portrayed the role of Eric del Mundo in the phenomenal GMA Telebabad series, My Husband’s Lover. His performance was critically acclaimed, cementing his status as one of the most versatile actors of this generation. Dennis is best known for his transgender role in Aishite Imasu, 1941, where he won Best Supporting Actor in the 30th Metro Manila Film Festival, along with best actor accolades from the Film Academy of the Philippines, the PMPC Star Awards For Movies and the Young Critics Circle. Last year, he was one of the recipients of the Golden Screen Awards Dekada Award. On his contract renewal, he said, “Sobrang proud ko na manatili pa ring Kapuso. Excited na akong gumawa ng mga bagong shows.
Wala na akong mahihiling pa.” He added, “Dito ako sobrang at home. If he were to handpick his next project, Dennis would want to do something that is light and very different from his role in My Husband’s Lover. He is looking forward to being part of a romantic comedy or action series. Entertainment TV Group SVP Lilybeth G. Rasonable said that she’s very glad to still have Dennis in the Kapuso turf. “It’s a sign that we have a good relationship with him. Sino ba naman ang hindi magla-line-up ng magagandang projects para sa isang napakagaling na artista? Palagi kaming nae-enganyo na mag-isip ng mga roles for him kasi he would always deliver. We’re excited,” she added.
