TV5 now available in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

TV5 International Successfully Launches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Pilipinas Global Network Limited (PGNL), TV5’s international arm, officially launched in the Middle East via a 3-day event dubbed “Give Me 5, Kapatid.”

Held last November 3-5 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the events were made possible with the help of its partner, Orbit Showtime Network (OSN).

“Give Me 5, Kapatid” kicked off on November 3 with a press conference and a luncheon at the Sky Lounge of Gloria Hotel in Dubai. TV5 President and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa and PGNL President Claro Carmelo Ramirez were joined by chosen community leaders and members of the local press. Kapatid star Ruffa Gutierrezand comedian Shalala were also present during the said press conference.

The following day, the group took off to Abu Dhabi for a whole day of celebration. Shalala and Pinoy Explorer Aga Muhlach prepared a special presentation for Filipinos living in the area. This grand Fans Day brought enjoyment and happiness to Kapatids yearning for Pinoy entertainment.

Side A band also performed that evening, much to the delight of the 4,000 Filipinos who attended the event. Everyone sang along to Side A’s hits, turning the venue into a videoke bar. Aga once again put out a “concert artist” performance during his portion. The lovable actor/host brought out his musical talent by gamely dancing and singing with each song. Ruffa Gutierrez then came on stage, looking breathtakingly beautiful in her Cary Santiago gown.

The former beauty queen introduced TV5’s Corporate Social Responsibility campaign. TV5 and OSN are committed to helping out distressed Filipinos in the UAE. Through “Give Me 5, Kapatid,” OFWs are encouraged to donate money to help out their fellow Filipinos in the region. The total donation amount will be matched or doubled by TV5 and OSN and will then be given to the Philippine embassy in UAE, headed by Ambassador Grace Princesa who also graciously attended the event. The money collected during the campaign will be used to buy airline tickets for chosen kababayans, giving them a chance to return to the Philippines to be with their families this coming Christmas.

Aside from a Fans Day, the crew of Pinoy Explorer also shot new episodes in Dubai and Abu Dhabi which will air soon on Aksyon TV International.
Talentadong Pinoy also held a special international audition last November 5 at the Boracay Club of the Asiana Hotel in Dubai. The chosen Talentados will fly back to Manila to join other chosen Filipino contestants from all over the world for a special international episode of the hit talent show.

“Give Me 5, Kapatid” in the Middle East is in line with the network’s commitment to not only provide quality entertainment but to reach out and connect overseas Filipinos to their loved ones in the Philippines . With the success of “Give Me 5, Kapatid,” Filipinos living abroad can expect similar events to come their way as TV5 continues to expand worldwide.

Is Pet (Dog) Raffle Illegal?

I constantly see "dog raffle'' on my Facebook feed but I have never played even once.  I actually bought my three dog pets on the Marketplace, Shih-Tzu, Pomeranian, and Maltese and these breeds of dogs are costly especially if they will come along with PCCI. The Philippine Canine Club, Inc. was organized on March 21, 1963, as a non-stock, non-profit service-oriented corporation for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the love for pure-bred dogs. Quality dogs from legit breeders are usually registered on PCCI. Of my three pets only my Pomeranian has PCCI which I bought for Ph20,000. Earlier, this morning I have seen a post on Facebook from an Animal Shelter in Bulacan, "Pawssion Project" opening up another sensitive topic about dogs being put into a raffle. The page highly condemns such act and highly encourage everyone to report posts that offer PET RAFFLES. Here is Pawsion Project's complete post regarding the issue: Opening up another “sensitive” topi...

I got a TikTok Viewer Job Offer from Skyrocket Studio Ph- Scam or Not?

Earlier today, I got a message on my Whatsapp and telling me to become a TikTok Viewer with an attractive salary and commission. The message says it's a part-time job and I can work from Home. Legit or not? So I ask the sender who he/she is and how did she manage to get my Whatsapp number. She told me she was from Skyrocket Studio Ph  and she got my number from Whatsapp, Linkedin and/or Telegram. She's not sure actually where she got my number. Then I took to Google and search for the said company and saw a legit website: "We are a fresh, dynamic group of caffeine-fueled individuals inspired to deliver results through smart solutions. We’re an entrepreneurial bunch with expertise in creative technology, digital marketing, content & business strategy, web development, design, and social media." Then the Manager told me to install Telegram and this time I am not sure if  I am chatting with two different people from Whatsapp and Telegram. The so-called manager ask me...

Inspiring speech by Bill Gates on Harvard Commencement

I always wanted to share this inspiring speech by Mr. Bill Gates. This speech is worth reading over and again. (I just can't remember how many times i read it myself). I received this thru e-mail which was sent to me by a good friend.  Harvard Commencement (Text as prepared for delivery) President Bok, former President Rudenstine, incoming President Faust, members of the Harvard Corporation and the Board of Overseers, members of the faculty, parents, and especially, the graduates: I’ve been waiting more than 30 years to say this: “Dad, I always told you I’d come back and get my degree.” I want to thank Harvard for this timely honor. I’ll be changing my job next year … and it will be nice to finally have a college degree on my resume. I applaud the graduates today for taking a much more direct route to your degrees. For my part, I’m just happy that the Crimson has called me “Harvard’s most successful dropout.” I guess that makes me valedictorian of my own special class … I did the b...
