Regine Velasquez remains 'Kapuso' renewed contract on GMA Network

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid inked a two-year exclusive contract with GMA Network, ending speculations of a network transfer.

The contract signing was held on October 15 at the Manila Golf Club in Makati City. Present at the event were GMA executives, Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Chairman and CEO; Mr. Gilberto Duavit, Jr., President and COO; Mr. Felipe S. Yalong, Executive Vice President and CFO; Ms. Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Officer-in-Charge of Entertainment and Regine’s sister and manager, Ms. Cacai Velasquez-Mitra.

Also present were Ms. Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Films President and Ms. Redgie Acuna-Magno, VP for Drama.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid is the voice behind Nandiyan Palagi, the Official Sountrack of GMA Primetime series, Genesis. The top-caliber songstress also recently won “Best Female Concert Performer” at the 5th Star Awards for Music last October 13.

Besides Sarap Diva, more projects are lined up for the legendary singer, actress and host.

She said, “I’m actually excited to go back to doing soaps because I haven’t done that in a while. After kasi ng My Husband’s Lover, I guess our audience is open to a lot of new ideas now. Excited ako kasi puwedeng ibang tema naman ng soap ang gawin ko.”

Regarding Velasquez-Alcasid’s next project, Ms. Lilybeth G. Rasonable stated, “There are so many possibilities for her next soap, so we’re working on that now. We’re also proposing other things so we’ll let you know.”

Mr. Gilberto Duavit, Jr. described the award-winning singer as an icon in the industry.

He expounded, “Siya ang icon natin. Mula noong pumasok kami ni Atty. Gozon at ni Mr. Yalong sa GMA, isa lang ang nadidinig at naalala naming tinig o boses, na siyang tumatayo bilang GMA. Wala siyang kupas maging sa pelikula, sa telebisyon, pagkanta at hosting. “

Atty. Felipe L. Gozon went on to declare that Velasquez-Alcasid is one of the network’s most prized stars.

“Hindi lang Concert Queen ‘yan. Hindi lang Songbird ‘yan. Gumaganap din sa mga soap ‘yan. She is really an asset. We are very lucky.”

North South Commuter Railway Update- February 2023

The North-South Commuter Railway Project is a 147 – kilometer mass transportation railway system traversing Clark, Pampanga (Region 3) to Calamba, Laguna (Region 4). Expected to cost ₱873.62 billion, ] the line is the most expensive railway transportation project in the country. The entire system is expected to be completed by 2029.
