Impossible scenarios or glimpses into the near future? This year, GMA News and Public Affairs embarks on its biggest environmental project. ORAS NA, hosted by Richard Gutierrez, takes us to places where there is significant visual evidence to suggest that time may indeed be running out for the resources that provide our most basic needs. GMA News and Public Affairs’ “Oras Na” aired on November 20, 2011, is one of the 10 finalists for the 31st International Union Radiophonique et Télévisuelle Internationale (URTI) Grand Prix for Author’s Documentary. The GMA News and Public Affairs environmental documentary “Oras Na” (It’s Time), a 60-minute special (SNBO) hosted by Kapuso leading man and environmental advocate Richard Gutierrez, scored a nod at the URTI awards in France. KANTA PILIPINAS "Official Music Video" feat. Ms. Lea Salonga w/ lyrics. Soon to be aired on TV5, Kanta Pilipinas will be TV5's biggest reality singing search that will call for the entire nation to sing. It's not a mere singing contest as it will delve deeper into the lives of each contestant. Kanta Pilipinas will transform the lives of these ordinary individuals to be the star that the entire Philippines will admire. The program includes a Cinderella-makeover segment that will further boost each contestants appeal and that will catapult them to singing sensation status. Open to all Filipinos, 14-30 years old, Kanta Pilipinas will scour the whole country in a nationwide search. Applicants can be a solo, duo, or group act of any genre. The nationwide search will begin this the February. Stay tuned to TV5 for announcements.

Leading multimedia company GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) continued to win in nationwide ratings for the month of April, based on data from broadcast industry’s recognized ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. GMA improved its total day household audience share this April relative to March across all areas. Audience share of its closest rival ABS-CBN, meanwhile, followed an opposite trend. Based on full April ratings data (April 1 to 21 data and April 22 to 30 overnight data), GMA posted an average total day household audience share of 35.5 points in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), ahead of ABS-CBN’s 29.4 points by 6.1 points and of TV5’s 15 points by 20.5 points. Using an estimate of five viewers per household, GMA’s margins translate to more than one million viewers over ABS-CBN and almost 3.6 million viewers over TV5 nationwide. In Total Urban Luzon, which comprises 77 percent of total urban television households nationwide, GMA recorded ...
