Antonio Margarito Apologizes For Video Mocking Freddie Roach

Photograph shown on the video posted at the gym where Margarito conduct his training This is an edited version already as the original one is showing this message  " This video has been removed because its content violated YouTube's  Terms of Service ".  if you try to look at it.  Antonio Margarito has apologized for the video where he was seen attempting to imitate Freddie Roach's physical condition. If you believe what the Mexican fighter is saying, his actions were in no way an attempt to make light of Roach's affliction with Parkison's disease. During Thursday's press conference introducing the undercard fighters, Margarito issued an apology to Roach and added he hoped the 50 year-old Roach would forgive him. Brandon Rios, Margarito's training partner who will fight in the undercard bout, has also since apologized for his role in the video. Both men were defended Wednesday by trainer Robert Garcia, who claimed he would not allow such behavior in hi

LUPANG HINIRANG IN PACQUIAO'S FIGHTS

ZYRENE PARSAD feels overjoyed that Manny Pacquiao personally chose him to sing “Lupang Hinirang” in his bout with Antonio Margarito in Texas on November 13. “I met him when I sang sa Sarangggani Investors Night at New World Hotel,” she says. “I was surprised when he called me later to say akong kakanta ng national anthem sa next fight niya. I thanked him as this is really such a big break for me. But I’m now so tense kasi first time ko to sing in such a big venue na isang international boxing arena and to be seen pa all over the world. I train every day. My parents advised me to ask advice from the National Historical Institute on how to sing it properly, kasi di ba naging controversial yung renditions ng ibang singers? I also asked Mr. Ryan Cayabyab for advice and all their inputs, pinagsama ko to make sure hindi ako mapapahiya. Mr. C told me to sing it from the heart and that’s what I’ll do dahil I see to it every line I sing will come from my heart.” We first interviewed Zyrene when

24/7 Pacquiao Margarito: Extended Face-Off w/ Max Kellerman

Pacman already on weight… But is he focused on politics more than boxing? Manny Pacquiao, who will go for a world title in an unprecedented eighth weight division next week, is already at the contract weight for his November 13 pay-per-view showdown with Antonio Margarito. Pacman scaled in at 150lbs yesterday at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Although he appears fit and ready, Pacquiao told 60 Minutes’ Bob Simon, his main concern right now is politics – he also won election to the Congress of the Philippines last May – a distraction his trainer believes could be hurting his chances in the upcoming bout (Simon’s profile of Pacquiao will be broadcast on CBS’ “60 Minutes” news series on Sunday night at 7 p.m. ET/PT). When Simon brought up his political career, Pacquiao let him know that serving his fellow Filipinos is where his priorities lie now. “I already achieved my goals in boxing, my dreams in boxing,” says the 31-yr.old fighter. “What I want to achieve more is in publi

Pacquaio Endurance Training in Baguio

No more playing around. As the team of Manny Pacquiao arrives in Baguio Sunday, Freddie Roach expects training for the Filipinos’ coming title fight with Antonio Margarito to shift into high gear. “It’s time to get a little more serious now," said Roach shortly before taking the six-hour trip that will bring him and the rest of the Pacquiao entourage to the country’s Summer Capital. “We need to start working within ourselves a little bit more." Pacquiao, Roach, along with conditioning coach Alex Ariza and sparring mates Michael Medina and Glen Tapia left Manila Sunday afternoon, less than 24 hours after breaking camp in Manila Saturday. The world’s top pound-for-pound fighter’s Baguio arrival came a week short after he chose to postpone it to attend to his busy schedule in Congress as the lone representative of the province of Sarangani. But the 31-year-old Filipino ring sensation did keep himself in shape by doing a daily, two-hour afternoon workout at the Elorde gym in Roos

Margarito’s ‘great shape’ fails to impress Roach

Reports of Antonio Margarito’s top condition have failed to impress trainer Freddie Roach, saying the Mexican should really be in great physical shape for his Nov. 13 showdown with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.   “Who cares? He’s getting ready for a world title fight. That’s what he’s supposed to be, in great shape,” said Roach Sunday in a talk with Lem Satterfield, boxing editor of AOL FanHouse and news editor of BoxingScene.com.    “If he doesn’t get ready, then he’s a fool. He’s doing what he’s supposed to do,” added Roach.   Well-known boxing writer Dough Fischer had said after a recent visit to see Margarito train that the Mexican appeared a little faster than before and seemed to be in great physical condition.   There were other reports that Margarito looked relaxed and confident and was just four or five pounds over the agreed catch-weight of 151 pounds while Pacquiao, on the other hand, was a mere 146 pounds.   Roach said he’s not bothered even if Margarito climbs the r

The first time I heard about this song was in Party Pilipinas sung by Regine Velasquez for Philippines Independence Day  Celebration and I just learned from then that it was an original song by Manny Pacquaio. The lyrics was just so inspiring and uplifting and fitted by a great melody. Version of Regine Velasquez and Party Pilipinas Artists
