Typhoon Jenny Latest PAGASA Update

 Here's the latest update from PAGASA for the Typhoon Jenny with International name "Koinu".  SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 AM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon "JENNY" {KOINU} was estimated based on all available data at 360 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.2°N, 125.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 205 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. FORECAST: Western Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon. The rest of Visayas will will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Trough of TY Jenny / Localized Thunderstorms. Here's Typhoon Karen and Typhoon Lawin Latest Weather Update! Today September 11, PAGASA said that  the ACTIVE LOW PRESSURE AREA (ALPA) East of Mindanao has developed into a Tropical Depression and was named "KAREN". Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 20 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. Tropical Depression "KAREN" is still too far to affect any part of the country. "Karen" is likely to intensify within the next 6 to 12 hours.  Meanwhile, after Typhoon Karen, Typhoon "Lawin" is expected to be the local codename of the next typhoon that will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Though we always hope that the typhoon will not bring heavy rain and not cause flooding.

Here's Typhoon Igme and Typhoon Julian Update- August 25, 2012- Saturday. PAGASA latest weather bulletin says: at 10:00 a.m. today, 25 August 2012, the eye of Typhoon "JULIAN " was located based on satellite and surface data at 930 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (23.7°N 131.8°E). At 10:00 a.m. today, 25 August 2012, the eye of Tropical Storm "IGME" was located based on satellite and surface data at 380 km Northwest of Basco, Batanes (22.4°N 118.1°E).    Tropical Storm "IGME" and Typhoon "JULIAN" are still expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains over the country particularly over the Western sections. Moreover, fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Seaboards of Luzon due to big waves generated by Tropical Storm "IGME" and Typhoon "JULIAN".

Typhoon Julian and Typhoon Igme PAGASA Latest Update

At 7:00 a.m. today, 22 August 2012, the eye of Typhoon "IGME" was located based on satellite and surface data at 315 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.4°N 124.6°E). Meanwhile, the tropical cyclone with international codename Bolaven is still moving closer, and was last spotted 1,550 km east of extreme northern Luzon. If it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility, it will be given the local codename Julian.  Batanes group of islands will experience rains with gusty winds and its coastal waters will be rough to very rough. The rest of Northern Luzon, the Western sections of Central and Southern Luzon and Panay island will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Typhoon Igme PAGASA Update- August 19 Sunday!

At 12:00 n.n. today, 19 August 2012, the center of Tropical Depression "IGME" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 285 km East Southeast of Aparri, Cagayan (17.8°N 124.5°E). Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. Tropical Depression "IGME" is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains over Central and Southern Luzon especially the western section.  Residents living in Northern Luzon especially in low lying and mountainous areas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern Seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon due to Tropical Depression "IGME" and the surge of Southwest Monsoon. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5

Here's the latest PAGASA Weather Update- August 8, 2012!  According to PAGASA, the Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT) has weakened slightly as Tropical Cyclone "HAIKUI" outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has moved farther away and made landfall in the vicinity of Shanghai, China early this morning. Consequently, weather condition is expected to slightly improve further before the weekend because of the weakening of the southwesterly winds. However, for the next 12 hours, light to moderate rains (2.5-5mm/hr) in some portions of Batangas are expected. Here's an update on Typhoon Ramon as of October 13, 7:00 PM. At least 12 other areas were placed under Storm Signal No. 1 including Metro Manila as Tropical Depression Ramon (Banyan) changed direction and moved northwest toward Mindoro Wednesday afternoon. There might be a class suspension from Kinder to Elementary level on October 13, Thursday. Here's the latest update on Typhoon Ramon (Bagyong Ramon) as of October 11. At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression "RAMON"was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 360 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (7.7°N, 129.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 17 kph. In its 11 p.m. update, PAGASA placed the following areas under Signal No. 1 — which means residents there should expect winds of 45 to 80 kilometers per hour within the next 36 hours: Update: October 11-5:30 P.M.
