Chadleen Lacdo-o named Kanta Pilipinas first ever Grand Winner from Cebu. Chadleen who was tagged as Charice look-a-alike at the beginning of the contest eventually emerged as the winner. Lacdo-O was named the first grand winner of TV5′s reality singing competition “Kanta Pilipinas” on Sunday's finals night. Chadleen won P1-million and a recording contract. The 18-year-old Cebuana previously joined ABS-CBN’s defunct singing competitionfor kids “Little Big Star” where she reached the finals. Her life story was also featured on “Rated K,” “Probe” and “Storyline.” When she turned 16, she became a regular cast member of the Kapamilya musical drama series “Idol” and was able to sing and act alongside the show’s stars like Sam Milby, Coco Martin, Zsa Zsa Padilla and Sarah Geronimo. TV5’s nationwide musical reality search, Kanta Pilipinas, is slated to make many firsts in Philippine TV as it begins its series of auditions all over the country starting this Friday, February 24, at SM Cagayan De Oro. Aimed at helping aspiring singers maximize their potentials and achieve their dreams, Kanta Pilipinas will provide chosen contestants with mentors in singing, stage performing, personality development, style and fashion to help package them into the next singing sensations. With its first leg of auditions to be held in disaster-stricken Cagayan De Oro this February 24, Kanta Pilipinas is giving new hope to talented Filipinos who can rise above the challenges to live their dreams. The series of nationwide auditions continues in SM Cebu on March 2, SM Davao on March 10, SM Baguio on March 16, SM Iloilo on March 23, SM North EDSA on March 30, and SM Batangas on April 20.
