November 7 is Holiday in Philippines for Eid Al Adha celebration

This year Eid Al Adha will fall on or around November 6, 2011- Sunday, according to ask.com, therefore it is automatically a Holiday in Philippines.

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah's (God's) command to sacrifice his son Ishmael. Muslims around the world observe this event.

Eid al-Adha is the latter of two Eid festivals celebrated by Muslims, whose basis comes from Sura 2 (Al-Baqara) Ayah 196 in the Qur'an.Like Eid ul-Fitr, Eid al-Adha begins with a Wajib prayer of two Raka'ah (units) followed by a sermon (khuṭbah).

The date is approximately 70 days (2 Months & 10 days) after the end of the month of Ramadan, i.e. Eid-ul-Fitr. Ritual observance of the holiday lasts until sunset of the 13th day of Dhu al-Hijjah.

UPDATE: October 22, 2011
President Noynoy Aquino has signed Proclamation No. 276 making November 7, which falls on a Monday as regular holiday.
